Description:This course is intended to provide the understanding of basic principles of blood drawing, practicing blood draw on artificial arm, identification of color coded tubes, common sites of venipuncture and skin puncture, universal precut (Precautions) and isolation techniques and handling the specimens for accurate results.
Job Responsibilities:
A phlebotomist technician works under the direction of a physician, pathologist or laboratory supervisor will draw blood, process the sample and identify the patient and transport to the laboratory (test area).
Job Market:
After successful completion, the student will be eligible for employment in Physician Offices, Laboratories, Nursing Homes and Long Term Care Centers.
