Description:This Access Careers Queens course covers basic concepts, procedures and applications required for jobs in health insurance and billing. Learn how to review and file insurance claim forms, do data entry, medical record maintenance, enter transactions, create and transmit insurance claims (manually and electronically), follow up delinquent claims and send statements. You’ll also learn basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, basics of ICD9CM and CPT coding. Plus you’ll be well- prepared for the Medical Billing certification exam and to work in medical offices, hospitals, group practices, insurance agencies and billing agencies.
This coures intends to teach students the basic concepts, procedures and applications necessary to perform tasks involved in health insurance

and all types of billing, reviewing and filing of insurance claim forms. In addition to the above, the course offers the students the anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, basics of ICD9CM and CPT coding. The course also helps the students to prepare for the Medical Billing certification exam.
Job Responsibilities:
The medical biller is responsible for data entry, medical record maintenance, entering transactions, creating insurance claims (manually and electronically) and transmitting the claims, following up the deliquent claims and sending statements.
